Theresa J. Casanares, Founder
Theresa Casanares is founder, and director of Brand Manager for Salon & Barber Business Owner's business segment. Throughout her career her specialty has been creating new businesses and preparing them for financial growth. Using lean start-up approaches, Theresa has evangelized the methodology of test-and-learn  to build successful brands throughout her career.

Theresa studied  Business Management and Marketing at the University of Phoenix, San Jose, CA campus.  She has held positions as Realtor and assistant property manager for Department of Veterans Affairs Northern CA, K-5 Technology Instructor, and Legal Contract Paralegal Banking, and current owner of Salon Centre.  She has worked closely with small business owners through internet consulting with Great Start Network Marketing and Salon Business Owners, providing networking and small business advice to start ups. Her expertise in providing resources and solutions to help business owners launch business into independent, financial freedom.​

We recognize that not every hair care professional has the ability to travel out of town for hair trade shows. We all want to gain the experience that trades shows provide with education, networking and connecting with vendors. However, the expense keeps too many hair care professionals at home and limited to local ideas and trends. 

​Salon & Barber Business Owners is designed to give everyone the experience of attending hair industry related events without the costly travel expenses. The educator and vendor cost can include shipping inventory, paying staff, airlines, hotel, advertisement, trade show fees, transportation and housing. SBBO  eliminates most, and at times all of the expenses which pushes your sales profits to a maximum. 



S&BBO was founded in March 2009 by salon owner, master resource manager, and entrepreneur Theresa Casanares. Theresa saw the crucial need of barber and cosmetology industry business owners and entrepreneurs to virtually connect with peers, vendors to receive business skill-building opportunities. It was then that she launched S&BBO, creating a platform from which everyone in the industry could easily inter-relate and establish a network where they could thrive.

As an global, virtual, hair show, members can now attend a class just like attending a live hair show in the comfort of their own home or workplace. Share ideas, attend classes, buy products and make lasting business relationships that will help promote their salon or barber shop with all the tools necessary for business success.

It is our mission as a non profit to give back to our industry through scholarships to those wishing to pursue a career in the salon or barber industry, and to assist with new business or personal hardships. We have developed a team of business leaders that help us to identify areas where we can help most.

Advisory Board Members are business leaders in the community who are directly involved with influencing access to education and trade skills. They help to identify the needs of salon and barber professionals as it relates to the rest of the business world. We partner with technology, business, charitable, mainstream education systems, as well as other industries that effect are day-to-day business operations.

​Advisory board members create opportunities through community involvement and networking within their fields.  More importantly, advisers help us to identify future salon & barber professionals that can benefit from scholarships and mentorships.
